THE BOYS [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Oh my goodness. It was SO HARD to choose which images from this session to post! I think I narrowed it down to maybe 20 or so! I just love the photographs from this downtown session with the [R] boys. It was a family/senior shoot. All the boys names start with [A]...so Oldest [A] graduates from high school this year so we got some solo shots for his senior pics. LOVE THEM. Can't wait to add them to the website. The "looks" are great. Of course, we took some family shots too.

I just have to post this one again...because it was my FAVORITE of the day.

And this is my favorite of the boys. If you look closely, you will see Littlest [A]'s buddy...over to the right...there.

I love being able to capture kids (and young men) just as they are. I am so pleased when clients take my advice and come to the session just as they are.

My favorite shot of oldest [A]. The colors in this photo just make me smile.

TOTALLY love the dynamic with these boys! I think it is so sweet how Oldest [A] has his big hand all over Littlest [A]'s head and is leaning on Middle [A]'s shoulder. These are the shots I treasure most.

The prize at the end of the session.

The only taker was Littlest [A] (imagine that!). He had a blast!

[C] and [B], your boys are so handsome and polite. I had a wonderful time!

LITTLE LENI BUG ;) [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

So I am waaaaaay behind on blogging.

These photos have been in my head since I pressed the shutter. I had so much fun rolling around on the floor with little Leni...and I just have to say...I LOVE her room! The colors were fantastic. And to top it all off, she is wearing one of her Mommy's outfits from when she was little. Sigh.

And how can you resist this SMILE????

I [heart] happy babies :)

again, I was in love with her room and the colors. I had to find a way to incorporate them into a photo. Wah-lah! (the butterflies are so cute!)

HELLO! This one just may be my favorite!

So glad to call this little gal my neighbor. I am going to enjoy watching you grow as the days pass.

WHAT MATTERS MOST [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

I have been doing my BEST to SLOOOOOW DOOOOOOWN this Christmas Season.

I know. Everyone does...but ends up being "busy."

Have you ever stopped to think about just what it is that you are doing? How you are prioritizing things? People??? Well, I hadn't really. Until lately. I realized I was putting unimportant things, really, in front of other things and more importantly PEOPLE that mattered most. What a wake up call.

I'm not trying to be preachy here, except to myself, because I deserved it. I have to say, now that I have a better perspective, I have not been in front of this computer hardly at all. Just to get final client promises taken care of. And now to post some photos I took of the kiddos the other night in their cutie Christmas jammies :) I used my new Canon 5D Mark II (jaw dropping capabilities!!!). I am very thankful for a husband who is soooooo supportive of my "work." :) Thanks honey!!!

**these photos are totally unedited. Straight out of the box. LOVE this camera!
for you photogs - night, no flash, and ISO 4000! (again, jaw dropping!) Hardly any grain! My old camera doesn't even go this high, and is a total grainstorm at ISO 800.

Here are my JOYS

f 2.8 at 1/60 with ISO 4000!

Luuuuke! you messed up the bow!

I just can't believe how good these turned out with those settings! This is my new "point and shoot!"

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas!!

A THANKFUL GIRL [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

totally and completely

I AM IN LOVE

with my husband, my daughter, my son, & my life

I am so very blessed, and so very thankful for the blessings God has given me. What better time to reflect than at Thanksgiving? I do my best to stop and soak it all in daily...but my best isn't always good enough. There are days where I am totally stressed out, and I get lost in my frustration. With a 3 year old and a 1 year old, life is never boring. I find myself wishing for a moment to myself. A moment to just sit and be. But then I remember that these little bursts of energy ARE my life. And I just need to wish for more energy instead ;)

I felt the need to update my blog header and the images on the side to reflect who I am and where I am NOW. The changes of the past year have been fantastic! I am enjoying growing my business and my relationship with the city of Pensacola. So many of my clients have become my friends, and I LOVE that.

So here's wishing all of you a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

SNEAK PEEK [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Wow! It has been a busy few weeks! Once we all (almost) got over being sick, we headed to Disney. I haven't had time to post those yet...working on it! We got home, unpacked, and welcomed my best friend Tabitha and her family here the next morning ;) While they visited, I shot their Christmas photos. Here are a few so far!

LOVE this photo of little [M]!! Those eyes!

just the boys

And it just wouldn't be Christmas without some (fake) mistletoe! We did something a little like this for our photos, then Zack made this photo look so cute with the same concept ;)

It is so wonderful to have such great friends. I love watching our families grow, and taking the photographs along the way.

HALLOWEEN SNAPSHOTS

So I finally had time to download all of our pics from Halloween. We had such a fun time. The kids LOVED their costumes. Reagan so much so that she wore the same one from last year, but this year added wings and super sparkly shoes. You will probably be seeing those shoes on every photo of her until her feet are too big!

The Monday before Halloween we went trick-or-treating at Jake's squadron.

Reagan was Tinkerbell

and Luke was a Cowboy

As you can tell we are outside near airplanes. It was very hard to take their pictures. One running in each direction. I would snap one, catch the other kid. Snap the other, catch the first kid. Somehow I managed to get them both in a frame. Whew!

Heading down the hall for more loot.

Reagan and her best friend Kaelin

Then our friend [T] gracefully invited a ton of us over to trick-or-treat in her neighborhood. She also provided pizza, which Reagan has continually asked for every night since for dinner :)

We had such a great time. Reagan waited patiently all month for "people to be home with their candy and we can walk in the street" day. Now if I can only get it through her head that it is only one day a year!

FT. PICKENS [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Fall is in the air and the days around here are just gorgeous! Along with fall has come colds and coughs, so this Sunday we decided to head out to Ft. Pickens to get some much needed sunshine and fresh air and to scope out the area for an upcoming photo shoot. I was not disappointed!

I have never been there before, but have heard of these beautiful arches that everyone talks about. I found the location fun and whimsical for kids. I was actually surprised to get these photos from my kids since they run from me these days!! We had a blast!

Reagan is such a girlie girl :) She LOVES flowers. This was actually one of the last shots of the day. She was done. Ready to go see grandma and grandpa. Then Daddy gave her some flowers. Suddenly I wasn't there anymore, and she transformed instantly into this sweet adoring little girl. Twirling and dancing in the wind with her flowers...

Look at my sparkly shoes mama :)

Luke thought he was such a big boy on the stairs. Of course, daddy was just out of the frame ready to catch any sudden movements.

Oh JOY! I got a GOOD photograph with BOTH of my kids in it!
I just love how they interact with each other. They are starting to play so sweetly.
This is going on my wall for sure!

This photograph captures how Luke runs...just like his daddy used to when he was a baby.

and my dear sweet Reagan.
I am totally shocked she looked through the lens and smiled.
How did I get this? I simply said, "I love you Reagan." and she smiled back, "I love you mommy."
Sigh....
They grow so fast. And I am trying to soak it in as best I can.

Monica
