Yea!!! I finally got time to sit and blog about these AMAZING images of the Henrys!!!! I had a blast doing this session...and it was SO HARD for me not to post THE ENTIRE session! The kids were great. I just love outdoor sessions where the kids can let their personalities really shine. I think dear littlest [C]'s was the brightest :) He holds nothing back!! Little miss [C] was a darling, and the biggest [C] was quite the gentleman. H's, you have a wonderful family!!

The beach is always a fun place to play. I am so thankful that the Henry's allowed me to capture a moment in time of their BEAUTIFUL family.

OH MY! Do you realize just how close Christmas is? It is hard to think about with the beautiful 80 degree weather outside, but Christmas will be here sooner than any of us will be ready for! To get a jump start on things, I am offering Christmas mini-sessions later this month and early next month.

As I have said before, I believe family photos are invaluable. My family has changed so much from year to year. I just look at past photos and sigh...where has the time gone? Time is not our enemy, it is our friend. It allows amazing things to happen to us. With time, God has blessed me a with a wonderful family, full of love and happiness.

In describing family photos, a mom friend of mine put it best:

"I always knew what it felt like to love my family. Now I know what it looks like."

Now how do you top that?

These Christmas mini-sessions are going to be totally fun!!! I prefer to capture moments as they happen instead of posing. I LOVE to see your kids be themselves. Your session will result in 12-15 images (if I can control myself, if not, you'll have more!) posted to your personal online gallery. And INCLUDED in your session fee is YOUR FAVORITE IMAGE in full resolution digital form for you to use in your Christmas card, print for all of the family, use on your blog, email to friends, you name it! You will also be able to purchase additional prints a al carte, or if you wish, the digital images from your entire session.

Your session fee is due at the time of booking to reserve your time and date.

NEW SITE IS LIVE! [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

So here it is!! My new logo and business name!

The new domain is live. However, the old domain www.brownphotographystudio.com still works but will now redirect to www.monicabrownphotography.com!

I am so very excited about all of the changes!! And I REALLY like my new logo. I have never designed anything like this so I was unsure where to start, but this image just popped in my head and I think it suits me perfectly. It is simple, yet elegant. I LOVE the burst. My life revolves around light. I totally missed it in Washington and now I CANNOT get enough of the Florida sunshine. I always try to have a bright personality and bright outlook, and the most obvious...photography is totally based on LIGHT.

I LOVE LIGHT :)

Just looking at this new image for my business brings me JOY.

Very soon I will be posting information about the upcoming Christmas mini-sessions. I encourage you to take advantage of these prescheduled times and locations as the packages that are offered with this event offer substantial savings! And who doesn't want a wonderful family photo for their personal Christmas card?

I totally believe that families should have their portrait taken yearly. Just think of what transpires in your life within one year (especially with Military life...YIKES!) These years will seem to have flown by as we look back. I believe the best way we can preserve the memories is with beautiful photographs. Don't believe me? BIG CHANGES ARE COMING!!! [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

WOW! There is a lot going on around here! First of all (drumroll please)...

I am changing the business name!!!

Brown photography studio is becoming

Monica Brown photography

I am in the process of changing my domain name and therefore website. So if you log on and one page says one name and another page says a different name, just know I'm in the back working on it! The current site will redirect to the new one once it's live. All of this computer stuff is over my head, so be patient.

All of these changes are coming about because of a fantastic workshop I attended this past weekend in Dallas. It was hosted by the fabulous Cheryl Muhr with guest speaker [and newborn photographer] Molly Hilton. I learned so very much that I can't wait to share in the form of style and products!!!!

HI, MY NAME IS MONICA

It has been forever since I have blogged! And now I am going to have SOOOO much to say! Here I am in Dallas about to learn SECRETS from one of the best! I am so excited to learn!!!! I am afraid there will not be enough exclamation points for this post!! The experience so far has been great. I have made new and wonderful friends that share my passion for photography. The conversation is just fantastic!
This morning we get to shoot NEWBORNS. Very tiny ones, less than a week old!! They are going to be so snuggly cute! and then we will shoot older models later in the day followed tomorrow by editing techniques. Sally, you are going to be so glad we postponed your session!!

REAGAN'S PARTY [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

I guess I should post photos from Reagan's party before Luke has his FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY this weekend! My, how time flies!

We had so much fun with Reagan's party...and she had a blast! It was so much fun celebrating with friends and family! As you can see, the [theme] was all things summer.

This image was the worst exposure ever...but turned into my favorite with just a little playing around.

The pool was a hit!

Reagan and her handmade bucket. She was the only kid that put fishy stickers [inside] her bucket...so they could swim in the water ;)

We are so very thankful to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends and to be near our families so that they can celebrate with us. I'll try to post photos from Luke's party faster than a month later!!

THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR AWESOMENESS [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Lately I have been taking stock of all of the blessings in my life, things I am most thankful for. Many things come to mind but the one that is most appropriate for here is my thankfulness for my mentor, MICHELLE OCAMPO. She has been such a good friend to me. I met her only briefly in Washington before we both moved. She is now in the desert in So Cal and I am about to experience Pensacola's first tropical storm of the season. We are worlds apart, yet not. I know that anytime I have a photography question (or other random question for that matter), she will be more than happy to help me out. I ADORE her artwork. It is simply inspiring. And I find myself stalking HER BLOG to see her latest work. She is such an influence [if not THE INFLUENCE] for my work. I know I can only learn and get better, and I credit her with 99% of my progress. She even helps me find other places to learn. She is simply fantastic. I wish that you all could meet her, but if not, just visit her website and blog. You'll find a piece of her there...

Cheesy song to get stuck in your head, right? It's been on the turntable for days now and it seems only fitting. THE WEBSITE is undergoing major changes right now. So if something doesn't make sense or is out of whack when you're surfing the pics, just refresh. Chances are I'm in the back working on it.

I just love [hate] how when I have one idea I have a buh-zillion! In the works are new products and some new funky ideas. I can't wait to share!! But right now I have to get all of my wires straight so that you can understand my thought flow. This is my brain right now -
