MY LITTLE MAN [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Just had to share some photos that were shared with me.

Reagan and Luke are at Grandma and Grandpa's following my surgery. I am at home doing well. I never thought about how groggy and out of it I would be afterwards. It was just a simple nasal surgery, but turns out, it really hurts getting cut anywhere. I am having to type this looking up since if I look down at anything a thousand needles suddenly appear in my nose. This is nothing compared to not being able to breathe everyday. I am sooooooo looking forward to breathing like a normal person!!!!!

Anyway, enough about me. Here is my littlest one having fun at Grandma and Grandpa's. I can't wait to see them tonight!!

Check out his smile :) he is currently cutting tooth #7!

OUR SUMMER SO FAR... [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Whew! It is HOT out there! But the sunshine is absolutely beautiful! I am sooooo loving Florida! Here is a quick summary of our summer and a few (a lot of) snapshots to go with it! Straight from the little camera folks!

My cousin Wendy and her husband Jake visited in May. We love spending time with them.

EXCITING NEWS! They will be adopting a new baby girl any day now!!!
They are going to make AMAZING parents.

We made it out to the beach before it got to be over 100 degrees every day.

This was Luke's very first time in the sand. He loved it! Just look at all of the trails he made with his tiny (fat) fingers!!
I'm very thankful he did not realize it was edible...

Jake and Reagan are so sweet together.

It's getting past Luke's nap time here. He was out of smiles :(

beach feet :)

This is one of Reagan's best friends, Kaelin. She and her little sister Kiera (Luke's best friend) come over to play with us a lot. We love their company!

Kaelin and Kiera sometimes bring their toys...and in this case were nice enough to let us borrow their water table! We had so much fun we went out and bought one too. Quality entertainment for $25.

pure happiness

Luke was more interested in the grass than the water. I could not get a photo of him looking up! And I think he got a bit of fiber from the yard...

And that brings us to today.
Reagan taught me how to make (get this) chocolate, strawberry and pickle cookies ("they're not yucky mommy" before I could even make a face about squeezing the pickle into the dough)!! Here she is showing off her beautifully baked imaginary cookies :) She even let Luke lick the spoon...although he is eating a different toy here.

I just adore the way she looks at him.

So that about brings you up to speed. It has been so hot lately that we can only get the kids outside before breakfast or after dinner. If we could only get a cool front, maybe lower 90's every day, we will get to the beach again. Or at least the pool.

I would have posted these as part of my fun "crapshoot Tuesday" but I am having nasal surgery tomorrow (gasp!) I have never been put under so I'm a bit nervous. But I have to say the positive side of it all is #1 I will be able to breathe once this is over. This has been a real issue for about 4 years now. And #2 I'm excited to get to rest uninterrupted! Two little kids does not allow me that luxury very often :)

I will be back blogging soon!!

Enjoy the sunshine!!

JUST SPLASHIN' [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

What fun! This weekend I went to the beach with the [C] Family and had a blast! Looks like they had fun too..

Little [C] with dad

Weeeeee!

They were such a FUN family to shoot with...and nevermind my phone got killed by a rouge wave (btw, just call my home phone).  It was so much fun.  And so HOT!  We got out there at 9am and were totally sweating immediately!

Thank you to Megan at Baby Boot Camp for handing out my cards!

EXCUSES, EXCUSES... [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

I know it has been a WHILE since I have posted.  To explain this I have this to say:

1. I have been sick since the day we returned from vacation.  For those of you who have been around me in the last month, I can now HEAR you!!  Hooray for hearing!

2.  Luke is into EVERYTHING.  I can barely keep up with him.
Translation:  NO time to be on the computer.

3.  IT'S SUMMER!!!!  Me and the kids are outside as much as possible :)

All that being said, I am going to try to get some "good" photos of the kids this week.  So far we have been just taking snapshots of painting in our jammies ;)

Hope you are having a fantastic summer so far!!!!

Monica

SESSIONS!!! [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Oh joy of joys!  I am finally available for sessions!!

How I have missed taking photos and crawling after little ones to get that perfect shot.  Okay...so I have been doing that a little, but just with my kiddos :)

BEGINNING JUNE 3RD I will be available Monday through Saturday.

Mondays and Wednesdays will be best as I will have childcare then, but if you give me enough notice I should be able to work about anything.

I look forward to hearing from you!!

TODAY I FEEL... [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

I was actually looking for overwhelmed...but seeing this face instantly changed me to optimistic.

What a week.  And I'm really sick on top of it all, but things are looking up.  I found out from my cousin that she and her husband are having a baby girl!!!!!  I can only hope that our two little girls will have the wonderful relationship that we do.  And her name is divine.  Can't tell you yet!  But she will be here soon....counting the days.

I will hopefully have some time to edit some pictures one of these days so that I can compose a "real" post, but for now the personal yadda yadda will have to do ;)

Have a silly weekend!

CRAPSHOOT [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

We are home!!! I have been trying to gather myself after what was a stressful "vacation" to put it nicely. Jake and I have learned our lesson about trying to take such a grand family trip with such small children. We were the ONLY parents I saw that had two SMALL children and NO grandparents. Other families were prepared. We were just exhausted. All of us. It was wonderful family time...it was just 24-7 of us all on top of each other which meant the kids had no space just for them which meant they were pretty cranky. I sorted through the pics to find smiley ones.

I just have to say it was a vacation Jake and I will never forget and hopefully Luke and Reagan will never remember! LOL!

Here we are unedited :) At least the images aren't! I'll post the rest later in an album...

Getting ready for the safety drill.  Isn't he TOO CUTE?

Luke was down for the count early.  This got lots of awwwws.

Like it says above...crap shots :)  Reagan was not into smiling here.

Golly Gee mom, when will all of this nonsense end?
Oh, and Luke thought he could walk at the beginning of the week, so that is carpet burn on his nose.  I got to explain this to complete strangers all week.
He is also literally sick (hence the reflection in the snot - yuck) and tired (purple eyes) in this photo.

Reagan's new way to smile...which worked on Pirate night so I joined her!

Luke LOVED the kiddie fountains.  We were always so busy playing with him that we didn't have much time to take photos.

Reagan was a little hesitant with the Characters.  This is as close to a smile as we got.

On the other hand, Luke LOVED them!

SMOOCH!

A moment of alone time for me and Jake.  The kids spent the hot part of the day in the nursery onboard.

My two handsome men.  Gush...

And finally, a where's waldo of me and the kids.

On the way home our windshield cracked from the bottom clear to the top right between the driver's eyes and once we returned home, our refrigerator had broken.  A fitting end to the stressful week.

The silver lining is my lovely in laws kept the kids Saturday night for Jake and I to recover and then clean out the fridge.  All is well now.  The kids are each in their rooms and can make as much noise as they want and not wake each other up at all hours.  And I am still trying to get everything in order.  Wait.  I do that every day!!!

Have a WONDERFUL WEEK!

MAJOR FUN [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

We're getting ready to see the Wizard...I mean Mickey Mouse...so gotta be quick...

This week has been really fun and very busy.  Here is some of our down time for the week :)

Luke finally has his own swing.  Jake hung it at night after the kids had gone to bed (when else do we have free time?) and when Reagan got up the next morning and saw a swing for LUKE on HER park (swing set), she freaked!  "Tell Daddy to take it off!  Luke needs his OWN park!"

Later that afternoon she was okay with the addition and had fun pushing him.  Here they are enjoying it together ;)

And today Jake pinned on Major!  We are all VERY proud of him!!

Have a wonderful week!

I LOVE B*O*B [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

So what is this you may ask?  Ever take that photo that conveys so much yet is not so perfectly shot?  Well here is the perfect place for that photo!

Let me just say, I LOVE BOB!  I am in love with him, or it, I should say.  After months of carrying Luke and holding Reagan's hand, I had enough when the other day I found myself in the little girl's room at Target, Luke on one hip, Reagan on the potty with me using my other leg and arm to keep her from falling in.  Potty training at it's finest.  I am dedicated.  However, this maneuver almost broke me in half.  That was it.  I needed a two kid stroller.

TA-DA!  Here is my new best friend:

[Shot in a dark parking garage with hella-flash.]

And the reason I love it most - Luke sound asleep and Reagan only seconds behind.

[Loving the blue tint from the water and the random arm in the back :) ]

This is also what happens every day as we take our walk/jog through the neighborhood.  Hopefully BOB is going to help me work my way back to pre-baby weight.  Already on the way...WOOHOO!

So these aren't even good photos, but they are my life, unedited.

This should be fun, so I will try to post some crappy, fun shots each week...but not next week!  I'll be on a boat with Mickey Mouse!

Monica
