Whew! It is HOT out there! But the sunshine is absolutely beautiful! I am sooooo loving Florida! Here is a quick summary of our summer and a few (a lot of) snapshots to go with it! Straight from the little camera folks!
My cousin Wendy and her husband Jake visited in May. We love spending time with them.
EXCITING NEWS! They will be adopting a new baby girl any day now!!!
They are going to make AMAZING parents.
We made it out to the beach before it got to be over 100 degrees every day.
This was Luke's very first time in the sand. He loved it! Just look at all of the trails he made with his tiny (fat) fingers!!
I'm very thankful he did not realize it was edible...
Jake and Reagan are so sweet together.
It's getting past Luke's nap time here. He was out of smiles :(
beach feet :)
This is one of Reagan's best friends, Kaelin. She and her little sister Kiera (Luke's best friend) come over to play with us a lot. We love their company!
Kaelin and Kiera sometimes bring their toys...and in this case were nice enough to let us borrow their water table! We had so much fun we went out and bought one too. Quality entertainment for $25.
pure happiness
Luke was more interested in the grass than the water. I could not get a photo of him looking up! And I think he got a bit of fiber from the yard...
And that brings us to today.
Reagan taught me how to make (get this) chocolate, strawberry and pickle cookies ("they're not yucky mommy" before I could even make a face about squeezing the pickle into the dough)!! Here she is showing off her beautifully baked imaginary cookies :) She even let Luke lick the spoon...although he is eating a different toy here.
I just adore the way she looks at him.
So that about brings you up to speed. It has been so hot lately that we can only get the kids outside before breakfast or after dinner. If we could only get a cool front, maybe lower 90's every day, we will get to the beach again. Or at least the pool.
I would have posted these as part of my fun "crapshoot Tuesday" but I am having nasal surgery tomorrow (gasp!) I have never been put under so I'm a bit nervous. But I have to say the positive side of it all is #1 I will be able to breathe once this is over. This has been a real issue for about 4 years now. And #2 I'm excited to get to rest uninterrupted! Two little kids does not allow me that luxury very often :)
I will be back blogging soon!!
Enjoy the sunshine!!
delightfully,
Monica
