A COUPLE OF IDEAS [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

I know how overwhelming it can be to finally get all of your images from your session.  There they are in front of you, one by one.  You don't know how to choose!  I have been there many times...

I have a couple of ideas to get you going, as well as a brilliant idea from my friend Michelle Ocampo.  She has found this wonderful website that offers "frameless" frames.  If you are a military family this is better than sliced bread.  [I currently have frames laying against all of my baseboards in every room trying to reconfigure them to my new home's layout.  I had everything perfect before we moved!]  Check out Michelle's blog where she has created the most amazing wall collage!!!  I am soooo doing this!  My frames are in the mail as we speak.  The site she used is Quadro Frames.  Her collage is made of 6 12x12 frames found here for ONLY $25 (that is the price for ALL 6)!!  They have many other sizes of clip frames to choose from.  I bought most of them! And aren't the SQUARE PRINTS so fun?????

Another idea is to make a collage of 4x6s in my most favorite Pottery Barn frame.  And they are ON SALE NOW!!  There are also many other configurations to choose from so that your collage is your own unique personal creation.

*above two photographs courtesy of Pottery Barn
These are the first good photos we had made of Reagan.  Of course, I could not choose, so this became my very first collage.

If you have that image that you will treasure for all time, maybe a gallery wrap would be best.  Your image is printed on canvas and wrapped around a 1 1/2 inch frame.  Your image continues around the sides meaning there is no need for a frame and the wrap comes ready to hang.

Oh, and I still love the tattoos on the kids' hands from the birthday party earlier :)

And don't forget about metallic prints.  I have tried repeatedly to take a photo of one, but I cannot convey the robust color and almost 3D quality of the print in a 2D photograph.  If you would like to see one, please contact me and I will do my best to show one to you in person.

If you are still a bit confused as how to arrange your new photographs, please give me a call.  I would LOVE to help!

Monica

FROM THREE TO FOUR [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

This was just a spectacular day!  I don't think it could have turned out any better.

Here is the [G] family just hanging out at the water's edge.

I was so excited to shoot my first outdoor "maternity" session.

And check out this monkey.  When I asked mom if he was a good climber, she replied, "It is a well know fact."  :)

This was the story of the day...

I think the handle at the edge of this photograph is so necessary.  Little [G] was sure there was a man behind those big doors, and he was determined to find him!  No picture taking for him, he had business to take care of.  That is until mommy and daddy were having a moment alone without him.  Check out his movement!  (And the shutter speed was 1/200 sec!!)

(oh, and this could totally be a 10x20!)

And then there were three.

Soon to be four.

Oh I just can't wait to meet the littlest [G]!! I certainly hope I get to do some newborn shots!!!  Congratulations [J] and [J]!!!

RY GUY [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

A day of family fun where little [R] is turning ONE!!

He was so ready to be in front of the camera.

I think this just may be my favorite picture EVER!  I have fallen in love with the "white wall" downtown.  It shows eye-popping color of the most important thing - YOU!

This photo is edited to 10x20. What a FUN size (and just one of the many new sizes I will be offering soon)!  I'll be ordering one of these for my studio for sure.

TOO CUTE!
Mom and Dad deserve a little time alone...

I adore how they are gently holding hands.

Let me just say, OMG!!!!!

I had no idea when I was shooting this that this was [R]'s VERY FIRST TIME TO STAND ALONE!!!!

Check out [A] and [S]'s faces in the background!

Movin' right along...this little guy is fast!  I had trouble staying in front of him to get a shot.

WEEEEEEEE!!!

This was such a blast!  I can't believe I posted 12 "sneak peaks"!  I have soooo many more wonderful photographs.  I can't wait to show you them all!

NEW HEADER PIC! HOORAY! [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

So as I am waiting for the 12 (!) images to upload from [A] and [S]'s session...I have updated my header!  I am so excited.  The black and white pic of me alone (and 6 months pregnant with Luke) was getting tired.

I needed a photograph that reflects me better...

Color.  Nothing boring around my house.
And outdoors.  I love the Florida sunshine!
And with my kids.  My family is my life. (My hubby took the pic).

That makes me smile...

DELIGHTFULLY DOWNTOWN! [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Oh what fun! Two little giggly girls!

I had such a wonderful time with the downtown sessions. They were a blast! [L] and [N] have such a beautiful family :)

Okay, so here is my 2 cents...

I know most everyone will like this one better, BUT

THIS ONE is my favorite of the two!  No posing, just how it is!

Oh, those leaves were sooooo yummy!  We all had a hard time keeping littlest [K] from getting her daily fiber.

Wooo!  It was a bit breezy near the water!

And I just love this one!  I would keep it in mind for a SQUARE print!  (more info about those coming soon!)

[L] and [N], your family is amazing!

MONICA IS...

Finally getting to edit!  The little ones are feeling a little bit better today (thankfully!) and are both napping so I get to play!

My goal is to have all of the sneak peaks up by tonight!  Keep your fingers crossed!

STILL SEEING RED

All is not back to normal around here yet.  I came home from the shoot Saturday to a sick little girl that just got sicker :(  Her eyes are the reddest I have ever seen from horrible cold/sinus congestion that is making it very hard for her to breathe.  Mine and Jake's eyes are red also, from no sleep.  My poor little girl!  Needless to say, the sneak peeks may take a couple more days...

gotta go take care of my sweet ones.

FUNBURN :)

...is what you get when you combine Seattle pasty skin with beautiful Pensacola sunshine for the first time!  RED seems to be going around my house.  I am red from head to toe with sunburn (and rash from rolling around in the grass with the kids - TOTALLY worth it!), Reagan's nose and cheeks are red from an impending cold, and Luke's knees are red from all of his crawling (he is so fast!).

I will post some sneak peaks as soon as I can.  I glanced at the pics as they were downloading and I can't wait to get to editing!!

Oh, and I have now taken over 10,000 pics with my "new" camera!

MARINA'S HEALING TOUCH

I'm not a chain-store kinda gal (except for Target.  I love Target)...so I am always on the lookout for something local and fabulous.  And I've found it!  This isn't a store actually.  It's better.

My MIL introduced me to Marina, and thankfully so.  Marina runs her business out of her home like me.  She offers massage therapy, cranio sacral therapy, accupressure, reflexology, and thai yoga bodywork.  I have to admit I don't know what some of those are, but I do know that a massage from her makes me feel...speechless.  My mind and body are completely relaxed once I leave.
The setting is ideal.  Marina's therapy room is half enclosed in glass.  This allows the sounds of nature to fill the room.  Beautiful birdsongs are still echoing in my head after this morning's session.  The natural light and warmth of the sun encompass you.  I have usually had massages in a dark, quiet, candlelit room, but I have to say that enjoying the sunlight is much better.  And Marina is such a nice person.  I feel that we are going to have a wonderful friendship.

Please visit Marina's site to learn more about the services that she offers.

FOR YOU WASHINGTON FOLKS...
I dearly miss my Kathryn!
If you are in need of total relaxation (and cannot make the plane ride down here to see the sand and sun) the next best thing is to visit my friend Kathryn Bratvold.  She gives wonderful massages.  Not just for relaxation, but to heal your body.  Same as Marina, she is a wonderful person.  (Marina had a lot to live up to!)

I plan to highlight a local business every month here on the blog.  More frequently if I find too many good merchants to keep to myself!  If you have any suggestions, please email me.  I'd love to hear from you!

I ADORE...

Be still my heart.

Reagan takes my breath away sometimes.  Here she is (in Luke's new hat!) lovingly adoring a little yellow flower.  Amidst the craziness of everyday life, here is a still moment of pure happiness.

Sidenote:  she is in her "fort" that Jake has been diligently building for her ALL (and I mean all) weekend and every spare minute that he has.  When it is completed I will post pics of her happily playing :)

I (HEART) TARGET

Problem solved.

So as I was saying below....

Hooray for Target!  I am so happy that we have some real shopping on our side of town now!  No more dragging the kids 40 minutes across town to get non-Walmart items!  Yea!!!

My first trip to Target I bought lots of things. (I was with the kids).
My second trip to Target I bought even more.  (I was alone).  No more "mommy time" at Target for me...

HELP!

So as I have mentioned before, I am not a computer person.
Apparently I am not a mobile phone person either.

Excited (thrilled, even) that a new Target has come to the West Side, I went to their silent opening to check it out.  I even took some pics with my phone (did not lug the trusty 5 pound camera) to prove it was actually there and open.  However, I cannot get those pics OFF of my phone!  HOW DO YOU DO THAT?  I hear about teens who have posted inappropriate pics from their phones to their social pages everyday...how do I post appropriate ones????

I am getting sooooo old...

RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES

I cannot believe it...

Seems like just yesterday my babies were tiny.

Luke turned 6 months at the end of last month (there aren't 31 days to every month so he has a bit of a roaming birthday).
He is almost crawling.  He can get on all fours and lift his hand to move forward, but can't get the coordinating motion of his knees.  That comes separately for now.
But Reagan is giving him plenty of motivation to move around.  Her toys just look so fun...
"If I could only eat them'" he thinks...

And Reagan (not quite as eager to have her photo taken) is growing so tall!  I made this growth chart for her last spring and finally hung it the other day.  Mommy's little girl is quite the little lady:)

Seems like the next time I blink they will already be in school.

I will treasure every day and moment, because each day they are different, and I need to remember them as they are right now.  Cute as can be!

A DAY DOWNTOWN

Well, I can't take it anymore... I just have to take some photos downtown!!!

Come and join in on the fun as I wander around the streets through the parks of historic downtown Pensacola.  The surroundings are gorgeous.  Grassy parks, the bay and boats in the background, the fabulous old buildings...I could go on and on!

This setting is great for everyone except newborns.  (You can't just lay a little one on the grass!)

This wonderful event will take place Saturday, March 21 from 10 am until 3 pm.
**[update:  only 3 sessions left!]**

Be sure to schedule your session soon!

These will make great Easter presents (a little birdie told me so)

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE

All a-glow.

That is how I would describe [A].
It is so wonderful to see an expectant mother so full of joy and so in love with her family. I had a fantastic time shooting [A] and her soon to be expanding family. Little [R]'s giggles still echo in my studio ;)

It was almost impossible for me to narrow my favorites down to a few to post to the blog. I will be finished with your entire gallery soon!

Keep in mind that 25 comments (below) by next Sunday will earn you a free print!

I can't wait to meet the new baby!
