MAJOR FUN [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

We're getting ready to see the Wizard...I mean Mickey Mouse...so gotta be quick...

This week has been really fun and very busy.  Here is some of our down time for the week :)

Luke finally has his own swing.  Jake hung it at night after the kids had gone to bed (when else do we have free time?) and when Reagan got up the next morning and saw a swing for LUKE on HER park (swing set), she freaked!  "Tell Daddy to take it off!  Luke needs his OWN park!"

Later that afternoon she was okay with the addition and had fun pushing him.  Here they are enjoying it together ;)

And today Jake pinned on Major!  We are all VERY proud of him!!

Have a wonderful week!

I LOVE B*O*B [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

So what is this you may ask?  Ever take that photo that conveys so much yet is not so perfectly shot?  Well here is the perfect place for that photo!

Let me just say, I LOVE BOB!  I am in love with him, or it, I should say.  After months of carrying Luke and holding Reagan's hand, I had enough when the other day I found myself in the little girl's room at Target, Luke on one hip, Reagan on the potty with me using my other leg and arm to keep her from falling in.  Potty training at it's finest.  I am dedicated.  However, this maneuver almost broke me in half.  That was it.  I needed a two kid stroller.

TA-DA!  Here is my new best friend:

[Shot in a dark parking garage with hella-flash.]

And the reason I love it most - Luke sound asleep and Reagan only seconds behind.

[Loving the blue tint from the water and the random arm in the back :) ]

This is also what happens every day as we take our walk/jog through the neighborhood.  Hopefully BOB is going to help me work my way back to pre-baby weight.  Already on the way...WOOHOO!

So these aren't even good photos, but they are my life, unedited.

This should be fun, so I will try to post some crappy, fun shots each week...but not next week!  I'll be on a boat with Mickey Mouse!

Monica

SCARLET [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

While visiting my cousin Wendy and her husband Jake last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph them as a family with the lovely Scarlet (Great Dane) and Caymen (I'm not a dog person so I don't know what she is). It was so fun to watch them all playing together :)

Just LOVE the KISSES!

Aren't they gorgeous?

Such a sweet moment.

We miss you guys already!  Can't wait to see you again this summer!!!

All our love,
Monica

MY CREW [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

This past weekend me and the fam went to Atlanta to visit my sister Wendy (OK...so she's my cousin, but we are as close as sisters).   Her husband's name is Jake too.  Gets a little confusing sometimes.  We had a fantastic time!!!  We went to the Georgia Aquarium (took lots of photos) and to Zoo Atlanta (took more photos).  You will see some soon :)  Right now the house is crazy.  Luke is SUPER fast and goes everywhere.  Reagan is stuck to me.  I am trying to find time to clean my house as well as play with some photos.  So here is a sneak peek while you wait...

Thanks for hosting such a LOUD crew Wendy and Jake!!!  We love you!

Monica

And I cannot thank

(click above to go to her fabulous blog!)

enough for giving me the editing tips for this photo (and the rest to come)!!!!

Thank you Michelle for all of the help, tips, advice, and inspiration that you give me :)

MY FAMILY [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

I have to sigh before I can even say anything...

I loooooooove my family.

I just couldn't choose which pics to load, so I loaded them all (that I have edited so far). Believe me, there are more.

Reagan was so excited!  She thought it was all prizes for pottying :)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  Chocolate.

After a bit, Luke decided to see what was in his basket.

Reagan was too funny with the eggs.  After Jake and I managed to ruin 10 of the boiled ones, we resorted to Grandma and Grandpa's candy-filled plastic ones.  Thank goodness no other kids were hunting eggs with her.  The main thrill wasn't finding the eggs, it was dumping the candy out of them into her collection.

[sidenote:  Grandma handmade her dress.  Isn't it beautiful?!?]

I loved shooting photos of Luke.  He was just hanging out, enjoying the afternoon as Reagan ran circles around him.

Luke and Great Grandpa.

Thanks for taking this family shot Robin :)

All tuckered out...what a great day.

THE UN-FUN SIDE OF BUSINESS [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

So today is the day.

TAX DAY.

And, no, I am not done.  I am sitting here surrounded by receipts.

Almost done with personal taxes, which take forever when you have to itemize business things (yuck!).  I just like to take the photos.  I do not enjoy keeping the books...guess I'll have to get better at that :)

I will try to post some Easter pics (at least a couple) before we head to Atlanta to visit my fabulous cousin who has a beautiful Great Dane, Scarlet.  I will be shooting them over the weekend and can't wait to see the results!  Scarlet is such a sweet soul.

So back to work so that I can get back to playing :)

Monica

DADDY'S AIRPLANE [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Ohhhhh, I love Florida.

I have missed my Southern winds (which as of this moment are bringing the mouth-watering smells of smoked bbq ribs from my neighbor's house).

I sound more southern now than I have in years.  And it is only going to get worse :)

This weekend has been beautiful.  The temperature is perfect.  The skies are clear.  I could add more adjectives...

To the point, this Friday Jake took me, Reagan and his dad (known around here as Grandpa) to see  THE BLUES fly...or so we thought. Me, Jake, Reagan and Grandpa along with lots of other people walked out to the flightline to see the show. We didn't quite get to see what we came for, but an interesting show nonetheless.

Red, yellow, GREEN! We got to see a Corvette racing the F-18 Hornet!  I would have tried to take pics...but there really wasn't a contest.  You might guess who won.  The second time I might have been able to get them both in the same shot, but how was I to know they would give the Corvette a head start?  He still lost, but at least it was more interesting.

After the "show" I got to do what I came to do - take pics of "Daddy's airplane."  I wish Luke could have been in them too, but he wasn't feeling well so Grandma stayed at home with him.  We'll try again next time.

The T-6.  A big (small?) change from the C-17.

Jake is flying for the Navy while we are based in Pensacola.  It is really interesting for me to learn the new lingo and some of aspects of Navy life from the wives (who are super great I might add!)

It's gonna be LOUD!

Oh, and GREAT NEWS!

Jake gets promoted to MAJOR May 1st!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------

With tomorrow being Easter, be sure you will see pics soon.  Grandma handmade Reagan a smocked dress (BEAUTIFUL!).  I am also going to attempt to get a family shot of us...so I will post them once they're done!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said."

SOMETHING TO SMILE ABOUT [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Take a deeeeeep breath.  Whew...

It has been a LONG two weeks.  We have all been sick, tired and sick of being sick and tired.

Now we are all on the upswing.  AND Jake and I are about to celebrate our 6th anniversary!  Yippee!

Just wanted to post some of my favorite pics of the week.  There was a lot of laying around trying to get better, and some of it was kinda cute.  I just LOVE these photos of Luke playing around with Jake in our bed.

Oh, and here is the latest on Luke:
TWO(!!) new teeth!
CRAWLING everywhere (that is not an exaggeration.  I will have to take some pics of our barricaded living room to prove it.)
And...PULLING UP.

I am having a hard time keeping up.  Time for another deep breath.

Reagan had her very first lollipop the other day.  What a photo op!

When she saw this pic, she smiled really big and said, "that's where I crunched it!"

And yes, I do have her sitting at the table.  At least I don't have her bib on her!

Well I am off to bed at 7:30.  Time for some rest.

delightfully,
Monica
