BFFs [Monica Brown - Pensacola Family Photographer]

It was my pleasure a few weeks back to photograph Jason, Megan and their 3 boys. Jake and Jason have been childhood friends for decades. I won't say how many.

Jason was our best man. He and Megan "celebrated" their 5 year anniversary at our rehearsal dinner with their 3 boys, the youngest of which was about 2 months I think. Brave parents. Brave indeed.

Here they are all grown up. [Megan - I don't know how you keep up with them!]

Look closely. They're all there...although I can only find two heads...

Moving on to the great outdoors for some serious monkey business

Stealing a moment alone. Even if it is in the boy's treehouse!

I love this family photo. All of the busy-ness gone for a moment.

I can't wait to see which are her favorites!

THE BUG IS ONE! [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Let me start by saying, I have THE CUTEST neighbor EVER!

I have been photographing this beauty since the beginning, and am very thankful for that. Her and her brother are such fun kids. And super cute. [They are all over my site!]

Her mom is the craftiest person I know, since I don't know Martha Stewart personally. The Bug's party was Flamingo themed and SO fun!

LOVE her personal cake! [Wish I had thought of that.]

And yes, her mommy HANDMADE the L's to go on top of each cupcake.
She really should start a party planning business...

LOVE me a flamingo collage!!
Everything was so perfectly coordinated. Not too much flamingo. Not too little.
And if you'll notice the top left image, Little Leni had her own wreath for the door to welcome guests. Again, handmade by her mommy.

Personalized gift buckets with hand selected toys for each child.
Luke has not set his little truck down yet.
Jenn, you are SO INCREDIBLY THOUGHTFUL.
Your family is very blessed to have you run their home.

The guest of honor!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY little Leni!

On the way over, Jake tells Reagan to look around Leni's party to get some ideas for her own.
Thanks.
Look what I have to live up to!

I can't believe how Leni has grown. It seems just yesterday she was a newborn.

And then we got to play in her room.

For her 8 month session, her mommy made her outfit and we had a Mardi Gras theme downtown!

Oh yeah, and then we played in the park. We just love to play...

LOL. I just noticed how much [I] have grown this past year!! If you click on the links above, not only have I changed my business name, but I updated my logo also! Each session has a different watermark! Change is GOOD.

Have a most wonderful day!!!

A DAY FOR FAMILY [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Well HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all of the dads a day late :)

We had a great Daddy Day around here. We took the kids to see the Sesame Street USO tour in the afternoon and then headed over to the grandparent's house for a family dinner. It is great to live so close to family these few years.

The mosquitos are out in full force right now so we only had time to snap a couple of photos.

First, all of the Dads.

Then just us girls.

And one last photo with the camera on a stool before we all RAN inside to get away from the bugs.

Hope your day was great too!!

A BRAND NEW ANGEL (PART 2) [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Oh, the sweetness of a newborn.

The pure peacefulness.

The one above was mama's favorite. And the other day I got this beautiful birth announcement in the mail.

[J] and [S] - she is beautiful. Truly amazing. Treasure every moment. They change SO FAST the first year. It is a wonder to witness :)

FUN FRIDAY [Monica Brown, Pensacola Florida]

Today and yesterday I have had the pleasure of watching my friend's little girl, little [K]. You probably recognize this beauty from the back of my business cards, the blog, the website...
You get the idea. We are around them a lot :)

Today Luke and little [K] and I have played so hard. Cooking plastic food, riding motorcycles and four-wheelers and, my favorite, jumping and dancing to the Alabama Fight Song until Big Al was "sleepy."

Well, I finally wore them out!

That HUGE bean bag and Curious George on the tv did it :)

Everyone have a great weekend!!

NOSTALGIC [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

Please note:
All of the images below are straight out of my point and shoot camera. They are not professional in any way. Just simply FUN.

--------------------------------------------

What a beautiful day. And it's only 6:20 am.

This morning I watched the sunrise. I saw it change from a fiery red to a bright yellow.

I have worked with the light on, and now by the natural light that is streaming in from outside.
I have comforted both of my children. Reagan, still 3 for less than a month, by covering her with her favorite quilt and giving her a quick kiss on the forehead, once I raked back those beautiful curls of hers. And Luke, 21 months, by rocking him back to sleep with a cup of milk. We rocked and snuggled until he was snoring. I absolutely love that I still count the months. Because once they're two, they seem so big. Talking. Doing things by themselves.

Yesterday was great too. Reagan woke up just before 7 and crawled in our bed. It was wonderful to start the morning with Jake snuggling on one shoulder and Reagan on the other. Family time is usually s.o. b.u.s.y. I try to soak in the down time.

Well I better hurry this up. They will be waking up for good any minute now.

I can't believe how they have grown and changed this past year. I just downloaded the images from my little point and shoot camera and I found some photos from the pool and beach last year. Just look at how big they have gotten!

At the beach last year. Oh my, they were so stinkin' cute!

They are so sweet together now. Hugs are spontaneous.

This was the very first photo I took at Disney. Reagan wanted to be Ariel :) I snapped it and she immediately said, "Mama, you are going to have to edit that." Out of the mouth of babes!

We were at the Beauty and the Beast show in Hollywood Studios. Luke was looking for something fun to do. Singing and dancing girls will have to wait a few years for his attention. I snapped this one when he laid back to smile at me.

And of course, the silly face!

Have a fun filled family day!!

Monica

BEAUTIFUL FAMILY. BEAUTIFUL BEACH [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

What a wonderful summer so far! It has been busy and fun around here, and therefore I am behind on blogging. Doing my best to catch up :)

Here is a session I did a few weeks back at Ft. Pickens and the beach just outside the gates. The [H] family was LOADS of FUN!

The natural light at Ft. Pickens just can't be beat. It is so beautifully flattering. This image is straight out of the camera...and totally going on the website :)

Oh my goodness. Just look at these beauties. You two have some breathtaking daughters. They were a total pleasure to photograph!

Love the Jeep over to the side. The fun-mobile of Pensacola. I am so getting one of those once my kids are a bit bigger.

And just to let you know - This part of the beach WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE OIL SPILL.

This beautiful white sand is over the dunes and protected. I LOVE the seagrass and other vegetation at this location. Natural Florida is so beautiful. I simply love it here!

We were off of the beaten path (imagine that) so [J] gave us a reminder of how to find our way back.

My specialty - non traditional family portraits!

And DOWN HE WENT!

We all looked over and the only [N] was laying in the water. I am still kicking myself for missing that shot.

LOTS of fun was had by all :)

I also specialize in that.

If you are interested in beach photos this summer, we are still ON! There are PLENTY of places to shoot that will remain unaffected throughout this crisis.

I have yet to make it to the beach and see the tar balls myself. I figure the president can look for me. He is in town assessing the damage so far. So for all of us locals, let's make sure we support our local business to help them through this. Even though the oil has not hit shore, our beaches are mostly empty which means the business along the coast are going to need our help this summer. We can do it! Thank you to all of the locals that support my business also. I love my clients!

THE SWEETNESS OF SUMMER [Monica Brown, Pensacola Photographer]

My, how this year is flying by! Is it summer already? The heat makes it wonderful to enjoy the coolness of the water this time of year. Unfortunately for us, the pool is the only water we will be in this year. I haven't seen it in person yet, but I hear on the news it is on my beach. My beautiful Johnson Beach. But I will not talk about that anymore...

This summer may not be filled with beach sessions, but that will be okay with me.

I LOVE downtown!

It is actually more ideal for summer photos than the beach. (Here's hoping the beach will be clean enough for fall photos - when the temperature is better anyway!)

Downtown Pensacola has so much to offer. The bricked buildings are alive with history and beauty. The old town squares are manicured and kept neat. The beautiful old trees offer a place to sit in the shade and just be. And it was the perfect location for little [E]'s 6 month session. Here are her newborn images. Now take a look at how she's grown!

The very first shot of the day. She makes my job so easy! And so fun! You cannot help but smile when you look into her happy eyes :)

The center of attention...as all children are.

[E] is so playful! Peek-a-boo!

I LOVE how her eyes sparkle!

And most importantly, Mom and Dad have still got it! Happy parents make a happy home :) And there's no better place to be.

Thank you [C] and [J] for choosing me to capture these timeless moments for you. It is truly my pleasure!!!

Monica
